A blueprint for implementing the recommendations of the January 2004 Crime and Misconduct Commission report - Protecting children: an inquiry into abuse of children in foster care

This blueprint outlines the strategy, plans and processes for implementing the CMC and Gwenn Murray audit report recommendations to improve the child protection system in Queensland. The blueprint recommends an implementation strategy to create the new Department of Child Safety, and provides staged programs of work to progress reforms over the next three years.

Wynnum Redlands Integrated Care and Support Initiative (WRICSI) presentation slides. WRICSI is a partnership between between 2 government area offices and 3 non-government agencies. It provides out of home care and support to young people aged 12-18 with complex needs, and flexible and individualised responses that focus on need and maintaining relationships.

Understanding Remand in the Juvenile Justice System in Queensland – Research Report

Professor Paul Mazerolle and Dr Jennifer Sanderson from Griffith University completed an analysis of the issues impacting on youth remand rates, including a literature review, cross-jurisdictional analysis, interviews with professionals who work in the youth justice system, review of a sample of case files and quantitative analysis of departmental youth justice data.
