    • Carer Business Discount Card

      Carers can use their Carer Business Discount Card to obtain discounts and incentives from participating businesses.

    • Carers support initiatives

      The Queensland Government has several initiatives to support carers and the people for whom they care such as the Carer Action Plan and the Support for older carers initiative.

    • Companion Card

      The Companion Card program promotes fair ticketing for people with a disability who need the significant assistance of a companion to attend activities and venues in their communities. Cardholders are issued with a second ticket for their chosen companion at no charge when purchasing a ticket to an event or activity at an affiliated business.

    • Law supporting carers

      The Carers (Recognition) Act 2008 recognises the valuable contribution of carers and sets out the Queensland Carers Charter. Amendments to the Carers (Recognition) Act 2008 commenced on 10 December 2010 to recognise the valuable contribution of grandparent carers, that is, grandparents whose grandchildren are living with them and for whom they are the primary carers and day-to-day decision makers.
