http:///Copyright The State of Queensland (Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services) 2010-2013.webmail@communities.qld.gov.au (Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services) Mon, 4 Mar 2013 15:29:00 +1000 - Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Serviceshttp:///#Mon, 4 Mar 2013 15:29:00 +1000<link>http:///</link><description><p>To receive updates on what roles we will be recruiting for, and when applications will open for our 2014 Graduate Development Program, please register your interest on the Queensland Government <a href="http://www.graduates.qld.gov.au/">Graduate Portal</a>.</p> <h2>About the program</h2> <p>Our Graduate Development Program&nbsp;provides recent university graduates with an extensive professional development program to enhance their leadership skills and personal capabilities.</p> <p>During the 12-month program, graduates gain competencies through their work placement and by participating in a variety of mandatory professional development activities and individually nominated courses.</p> <p>Mentoring relationships and peer support help to consolidate learnings and adapt to employment within the Queensland Public Service.</p> <p>The program also offers optional rotations into other business units, providing graduates with a broad range of experiences in different areas.</p> <p>Successful graduates will be on probation for the duration of the 12 month program and will be appointed to a permanent position at a PO2 level within the department at the end of the program.</p> <h2>Support</h2> <p>During the program, graduates are supported by:</p> <ul> <li>their managers and supervisors</li> <li>a mentor</li> <li>a peer network (including graduates from other agencies)</li> <li>consultants from Human Resources and Ethical Standards.</li> </ul> <p>Through the department&rsquo;s Achievement and Capability Planning process, graduates will have the opportunity to set goals and targets to help manage their own development and career.</p> <h2>Eligibility requirements</h2> <p>The program is for people who have graduated from university in the past two years in the desired disciplines.</p> <p>In addition to a minimum three years full-time or equivalent undergraduate degree, graduates must meet the following eligibility criteria:</p> <ul> <li>have completed their qualifications during the two years immediately prior to applying for this program </li> <li>are prepared to present academic credentials or transcripts as part of the recruitment and selection process </li> <li>are Australian citizens or hold New Zealand citizenship with a special category visa or permanent residency.</li> </ul> <p>Graduates of all ages are encouraged to apply.</p> <p>Please note: Some graduate allied health professional positions require a minimum four years full-time or equivalent degree (e.g. Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Pathology, etc) or post-graduate qualification (e.g. Psychology with Honours).</p> <h3>Positions in&nbsp;the 2013 Graduate Development Program&nbsp;have been filled.</h3> <h3>To receive updates on what roles we will be recruiting for, and when applications will open for our 2014 program, please register your interest on the Queensland Government <a href="http://www.graduates.qld.gov.au/">Graduate Portal</a>.</h3> <p>If you have any questions regarding the graduate program, email <a href="mailto:graduates@communities.qld.gov.au">graduates@communities.qld.gov.au</a>&nbsp;or phone (07) 3898 0409.</p></description><pubDate>Mon, 4 Mar 2013 15:29:00 +1000</pubDate></item></channel></rss>
