Gary Oliver, Executive Director - Indigenous Housing and Homelessness Programs

The department's Indigenous Housing and Homelessness Programs (formerly known as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Housing) aims to improve access for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to safe, secure, affordable and appropriate housing throughout Queensland.

This is achieved through:

  • planning and coordinating housing improvement initiatives to meet the immediate and long-term needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders
  • providing funding and support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander registered providers on Deed of Grant in Trust land for the delivery of viable and sustainable social housing
  • contributing to reforms and engagement with lead agencies in relation to the implications of National Partnership Agreements on remote indigenous housing delivery.
