With the abolishment of the Department of Housing on 26 March 2009 as a result of machinery-of-Government changes, the core functions of the former department have transitioned to the Department of Communities. The goals of the former department have been incorporated into the Department of Communities' strategic direction and will be detailed in the 2008-09 Annual Report for the Department of Communities.
