Queensland Government
Department of Housing and Public Works
Consultation for Tenant Participation program

The department's Tenant Participation program is a volunteer program that provides social housing tenants with opportunities to network, get involved in their local communities, and develop skills and confidence to make decisions that impact positively on their lives.

Tenants involved in the program have helped the department gain a better understanding of local issues, which has led to improved policy, housing and maintenance services.

Tenants and peak bodies across Queensland are being invited to review the Tenant Participation program and suggest improvements through an online consultation paper and survey.

Results of this statewide consultation will enable the department to gain a better understanding of local issues, meet the needs of social housing tenants and strengthen the relationship between tenants and service providers.
