Garden awards in bloom

The department's annual Water-Wise Garden Awards are on again. The awards, which are open to all social housing tenants, recognise the important role tenants play in improving their local community.

There are eight categories to enter, with the awards being judged on how the gardens reflect and promote water-wise principles. This includes water-wise techniques such as using composting materials and mulch, and the smart selection of plants that require little water or fertiliser.

A brochure and entry form will soon be sent to all tenants. Judging will take place during September with awards and prizes presented during October.
