The department would like to remind community housing providers that any service charges levied on tenants are governed by provisions in the Residential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodation Act 2008 and the Residential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodation Regulation 2009. The Act and Regulation are available on the Queensland Legislation website.
The Residential Tenancies Authority provides information and advice in relation to additional service charges and other tenancy matters.
