The Department of Communities is funding training opportunities for not-for-profit social housing organisation staff in accordance with the Government’s commitment to strengthen and build the capacity of the social housing sector through Strengthening Social Housing – A strategy to build capacity of not-for-profit housing providers.

The department is currently organising a number of two day workshops regarding the management of tenancies that will include topics that cover the use of relevant legislation and intensive tenancy management including the management of rental accounts and making appropriate referrals. Training will be held throughout February and March 2012 in Townsville, Cairns, Rockhampton, Maryborough, Roma and Brisbane.
