Queensland Government
Department of Housing and Public Works

In 2009, to complement the Australian Government's Healthy Indigenous Housing Initiative, the department ran an art competition for schools within close proximity to Queensland's 34 discrete Indigenous communities.

As the children of today will be the home-owners and tenants of tomorrow, the competition aimed to raise awareness about the importance of home maintenance, hygiene and safety, and tenancy rights and responsibilities.
