  A periodic tenancy is a tenancy agreement that has no end date. All new tenants who sign a tenancy agreement with the Department of Housing and Public Works have a periodic tenancy.

  The Department of Housing and Public Works owns a limited number of properties that have access for people who use wheelchairs, or have five or more bedrooms and were built to house large families.

  The Social Housing and Indigenous Housing and Homelessness programs, aim to provide housing assistance to low income earners in greatest need for the duration of that need.
