Does the department arrange pest control for my property?

The department does not provide pest control during your tenancy.  Properties are only treated for pests when tenants vacate.

Can I arrange pest control?

You can arrange for a qualified pest control company to treat your property at your expense. You do not need the department's approval for this. If you live in a multi-unit complex, you may wish to contact the other tenants for their agreement to treat the whole building. This approach may achieve a cheaper price for each unit.

Who pays for the pest control?

The department will not pay for pest control during your tenancy. If you have your home treated, you must pay for follow-up treatments after the warranty period expires. You are also responsible for keeping the premises pest-free during your tenancy.
