Queensland's 150th celebrations (Q150) will take place across Queensland from January to December 2009. The celebrations are being held to commemorate Queensland's 150th year of independence from New South Wales as a colony.
This anniversary gives people the opportunity to celebrate and reflect on what it means to be a Queenslander.
State and local governments and community groups are organising a range of events throughout Queensland next year.
In addition, the Q150 heritage steam train and Q150 shed, a travelling venue for performances, will visit as many places as possible in Queensland in 2009.
So why not join in the celebrations in your community or become involved by planning your own neighbourhood event.
