The Department of Housing's Water-Wise Garden Awards attracted more than 1,200 quality entries from across the state this year.
Tenants were proud to show their beautifully maintained gardens which highlighted their gardening talents and water-saving efforts, as well as their community pride.
While not all parts of the State were suffering from drought, the water-wise theme recognised that water is a precious resource for all Queenslanders.
The judges looked for water-efficient gardens that also reflected pride in a home or neighbourhood. A number of highly commended and special awards were also handed out.
All entrants in the awards received a certificate, a photo of their garden and a plant or voucher for garden products.
The continuing success of the Garden Awards is a credit to the many regional tenant groups who helped to judge the entries and organise the award presentations.
The awards were open to all social housing tenants including tenants of community and local government-managed housing.
