By now, you may have heard about the Department of Housing's new client intake and assessment process which will come into effect later this year.

Through this new process, eligible applicants will have their housing need assessed, and the department will work closely with those in greatest need to provide them with the most appropriate assistance to match their circumstances.

Applicants with a lower level of need will be offered other products and services to resolve their housing issues.

This new client intake and assessment process will apply to all new and existing applicants on the waiting list for social housing. Current Department of Housing tenants will only be affected if they apply for a transfer.
