Over the next 12 months, the department will maintain its focus on the alignment of policies and practices to deliver its services through one social housing system.
Departmental staff are committed to providing a high standard of service to all clients, and throughout this process, will continue to provide housing assistance to those in need.
The standard of service provided by the department will be measured through the annual National Social Housing Survey. This voluntary survey will be taking place in early 2007. A random selection of tenants will receive a survey form to complete.
The surveys are completely confidential. An independent research firm, Roy Morgan Research, will manage the collection of the surveys and the compilation of the results. No identifying information will be provided to the department from the research company.
I would like to encourage all tenants who receive a survey to complete the form and provide feedback to the department on our level of service.
Conserving water is continuing to be a very important focus for all of us. The department is installing water-efficient devices in properties situated in the most drought-affected regions of the State. The department is taking the water situation very seriously and will continue to look at practical ways to assist tenants to reduce water consumption. Please take some time to review the information about water restrictions and water tanks provided in this newsletter.
