Queensland Government
Department of Housing and Public Works

The Income Confirmation Service allows the Department of Housing to electronically request your income and asset information directly from Centrelink, to complete your annual rent review.

This convenient service provides the department with the same information that you receive on your Centrelink income statement. If the only income your household receives is from Centrelink, you will not have to provide any additional evidence of your income. If your household receives both Centrelink payments and other non-Centrelink income, evidence of your other non-Centrelink income will need to be provided for your rent review.

To use this service, you must be at least 16 years old, receive a Centrelink payment and complete an Income Confirmation Service Consent Authority form. Unfortunately, the service is not available if the only Centrelink payment you receive is a Family payment.

Participating in the Income Confirmation Service is voluntary. If you join the service and then change your mind, you can cancel your participation at any time. If you do not wish to use the service, you can continue to provide evidence of your income at your annual rent review or when requested by the department.

For more information on joining the Income Confirmation Service or to request an Income Confirmation Service Consent Authority form, contact your nearest Department of Housing office.
