Will you be leaving your rental property for a short time? It is important to let the Department of Housing know if you will be away for longer than two weeks.
Staff from the department need to know that you will be going away so they can record your absence. This helps the department if any damage to the property is reported, or if it is suspected that the property is abandoned.
While you are away, it is a good idea to ask someone to watch over your property to protect your belongings. You must continue to pay rent while you are away.
If you would like more information, contact your nearest Department of Housing Office.
