Communique' from the Tenants' Union
The Tenants' Union of Queensland is a community organisation representing tenants. We produce Communiqué: a news update for public and community housing tenants every two months.
We use Communiqué to inform tenants about activities and work we are doing on their behalf, such as bringing issues faced by public and community housing tenants to the attention of the policy makers at the Department of Communities (Housing and Homelessness Services).
We also provide tenants with easy-to-understand updates on changes to relevant policies and procedures. Each issue also includes a questionnaire for tenants to bring any housing policy or tenancy law issues to our attention.
We believe it is important to keep tenants updated about matters that affect their tenancies.
It is also important to give public and community housing tenants an easy way to inform their peak body about issues that should be brought to the attention of the department, a community housing provider, or other stakeholder.
If you would like to receive Communiqué regularly, email your address and details to us at socialhousing@tuq.org.au or forward your postal address to:
