Community partnerships
Multicultural Affairs Queensland has range of key community partnerships that promote positive community relations in Queensland.
On 8 February 2012, Multicultural Affairs Minister Annastacia Palaszczuk announced $6.3 million to fund the Local Area Multicultural Partnerships (LAMP) and Community Action for a Multicultural Society (CAMS) network to support Queensland's culturally diverse communities.
Local Area Multicultural Partnerships (LAMP) Program
Participating councils across Queensland are funded by MAQ to engage community relations workers to promote multiculturalism at a grass roots level.
Community Action for a Multicultural Society (CAMS) Program
A partnership between State Government and community organisations to support and promote multiculturalism in Queensland.
Water safety
'On the Same Wave' is a joint water safety initiative between the Queensland Government and Surf Lifesaving Queensland to promote water and surf safety among culturally and linguistically diverse Queenslanders.
