Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander services
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships leads the development of policies and programs to close the gap in life outcomes for Indigenous Queenslanders. It engages with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across Queensland and coordinates government activity on Indigenous reforms at a local, regional, state and national level.
Core services: Closing the Gap, alcohol restrictions, family history.

Child Safety services
Child Safety services leads the Queensland Government’s responsibility for child protection and adoption services. We protect children and young people who have been harmed or who are at risk of harm, and secure their future safety and wellbeing.
Core services: Protecting children, foster care, adoption, community partners, funding and grants, legislation, translated resources.

Community services
We perform a range of support functions to nurture strong Queensland communities. The services we support and deliver benefit children, youth including young offenders, older people, volunteers, families, people experiencing homelessness and domestic and family violence. We are also the lead agency for the coordination of community recovery support and assistance. Our role includes the provision of short, medium and longer term recovery strategies and services.
Core services: Community support and services, funding and grants, Ministerial advisory councils, seniors, and carer cards.

Disability and Community Care services
We lead policy, services and programs that support people with a disability, people with a mental illness, older frail people, and their families and carers. Specialist disability services are delivered by our department and non-government service providers that we fund. Home and community care and mental health services are delivered primarily by non-government organisations.
Core services: Support and services, information for service providers, community involvement initiatives, funding and grants, information for carers.

Housing and Homelessness services
We deliver a range of housing assistance services which are provided through government-owned and managed social housing, and grant funding to registered providers of community and local government-managed social housing. We also work to help people access and sustain housing in the private rental market, through bond loans, rental grants, RentConnect, the National Rental Affordability Scheme and the Tenant Advice and Advocacy Service.
Core services: Renting, loans and grants, community programs, design and development, partnerships, homelessness services.

Multicultural services
Multicultural Affairs Queensland is the Queensland Government body responsible for coordinating the implementation of multicultural policy across government departments and working with communities to promote harmonious community relations.
Core services: Translation, interpreting, statistics.

Sport and Recreation services
Sport and Recreation encourages more Queenslanders to get active through grass roots sport and recreation programs. We do this by developing and supporting opportunities for Queenslanders to participate in sport and active recreation, and assisting athletes at the elite level to achieve success on the world stage.

Women's services
The Office for Women plays a central role in carrying out Queensland Government’s vision for the women of Queensland. Through our policy work and program delivery, we aim to promote and encourage the rights of all Queensland women – across cultures, socio-economic backgrounds and age groups. At the core of our work is the ongoing challenge to remove the barriers that stop women from fully participating in society.
Core services: Women’s Infolink & Find a Service, information and education, Women in Hard Hats, Community Leadership Seminars, Women on Boards.
