Volunteer Grants (Dept of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs)

Volunteer Grants 2011 recognises the important role of Australia’s volunteers. Funding of between $1,000 and $5,000 is available to eligible not-for-profit community organisations to assist their volunteers and encourage volunteering.

Australian Sports Commission

The Australian Sports Commission offers sports a range of modules and support in volunteer recruitment, retention and management.

Department of Communities

The Department of Communities website provides information about the benefits of volunteering, how to become a volunteer and what kind of support you can receive. The website also provides access to publications and resources which outline the Queensland Government's volunteering policy and support community groups and government agencies that work with volunteers.

Volunteering Queensland

Volunteering Queensland Inc is a state and federal government funded organisation, which serves as a peak body for volunteering in Queensland. Volunteering Queensland provides opportunities for volunteer involvement through many innovative programs. These programs link people from specific target groups and community organisations.

Volunteering Australia

Volunteering Australia is the national peak body working to advance volunteering in the Australian community.  Its role is to represent the diverse views and needs of the volunteer sector while promoting the activity of volunteering as one of enduring social, cultural and economic value.
