Sports House, located on the corner of Caxton and Castlemaine Streets at Milton (adjacent to Suncorp Stadium) and only 3 kms from the Brisbane CBD, is a Queensland Government facility managed by the Department of Communities.
It is the administrative home to a number of state, regional, national, and active recreation organisations recognised by the Department. The facility provides permanent office accommodation, office equipment, administrative services, and well equipped meeting rooms at costs well below commercial rates.
The aim of Sports House is to provide professional administrative facilities and services at affordable rates and in so doing assist the development of sport in Queensland.
Meeting room facilities
In addition to permanent tenants, external sport and active recreation organisations recognised by the Department, are eligible to hire the meeting room facilities during or after normal business hours and on weekends and public holidays.
The rates of hire are the same for permanent tenants and external organisations and are included on the current price list current price list .
During business hours parking is restricted to the Sports House allocation within the adjacent PCYC undercover car park and street parking. On weekends and after business hours there is limited on site parking and street parking available
The three individual meeting rooms within Sports House are separated by fold away partitions allowing for the combination of individual rooms to create a larger area.
As individual meeting rooms they have the capacity to accommodate 20 (Meeting Room 1 and 2), and 15 (Meeting Room 3) people respectively. Each meeting room is equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, fridge and dishwasher.
A special feature of Meeting Rooms 1 and 3 is the availability of an automated data projector, large screen, and audio system.
The meeting rooms do not provide for on site catering and hirers are required to engage the caterer of their choice to prepare food/drink off site and deliver it to the meeting rooms on the day/evening.
