What is the State Sport and Recreation Organisation Development Program about?

The State Sport and Recreation Organisation Development Program 2011-2013 provides funding to State Sport and Active Recreation Organisations to promote and support the development of healthy and socially inclusive communities through sport and recreation activities and programs.

Program opens: 1 April 2010 Program closes: 2 July 2010   Funding period begins: 1 January 2011

How much funding is available?

Funding is available for a three year period up to a maximum of $300,000 per organisation per year. Funding levels will be assessed on criteria including past performance (if previously funded).

Funding levels will be determined through the information provided in the application as well as a review of past performance in terms of governance, participation, performance pathways, and education and training activities.

Who can apply?

Organisations eligible to apply include not-for-profit organisation that:

  • have the primary objective of promotion and/or development of sport and/or physically active recreation
  • conduct activities throughout Queensland
  • provide services on a state-wide basis.

Organisations that have limited services across the state must provide supporting information on the performance and growth of the sport, in terms of expansion across Queensland, to be deemed eligible for funding under this program.

Organisations that are not funded under the State Sport and Recreation Development Program will need to contact the department to discuss their eligibility if considering applying for this program.
