Get Active Queenslanders with a disability

Anyone can get out there and get active!

There are very few disabilities or medical conditions that prevent people of all ages participating in physical activity or sport.

Queensland's major sport and recreation bodies for people with a disability can get you started - whether you are looking for a local gym to arrange a fitness program or wanting to fulfil your dream of becoming an elite athlete.

You can also check out the Get Active Queenslanders with a disability brochure (PDF, 2.8 MB) for tips on getting active.

Many of the national sports organisations behind our most popular sports - including tennis, baseball, basketball, swimming, athletics, table tennis, tenpin bowling, softball, surfing and yachting - have made a commitment to include people with disabilities as part of their involvement in the Australian Sports Commission's Project CONNECT.

So there has never been a better time to give it a go!

These organisations can also help to link you to clubs, organisations and community facilities that are inclusive of people of all abilities.
