Local government programs
Some local governments also offer a range of sport and recreation programs and facilities specifically for older residents. For example, Brisbane City Council's GOLD! program (Growing Old and Living Dangerously!) is a popular program for people over 50. GOLD! offers a range of activities from yachting to using the internet, and is an opportunity to explore many active and adventurous activities available in Brisbane.
In addition to GOLD!, Brisbane City Council also offers GOLD'n'Kids - a program for older people and children to participate together in a variety of recreation and leisure activities during school holiday periods.
Why not contact your local council to find out what programs they have on offer?
