Alice Springs Masters Games
Operating since 1986, and previously known as the Honda Masters Games, the Alice Springs Masters Games is the longest running Masters Games held in Australia.
Conducted in Alice Springs Alice Springs every two years, the games are an eagerly anticipated permanent fixture on the Australia's masters sporting calendar.
Gold Coast Marathon
Run over a flat, scenic course in Queensland's premier tourist destination, it's no wonder the Gold Coast Marathon is now considered a major tourist attraction as well as being Australia's premier marathon attracting world-class athletes. Including the marathon, half-marathon, a 10 km run, a 10km walk and the 2.25km Junior dash, many local and masters athletes undertake the preparation and pre-planning to participate in the event, having a fun day out and feeling the satisfaction of achieving a set goal.
The 2002 Gold Coast Marathon attracted 9,500 participants from all over Australia and the world. For the 25th anniversary of the Gold Coast Marathon on Sunday 6 July, 2003, there was a total of 11,052 participants.
Pan Pacific Masters Games
The Pan Pacific Masters Games (formerly the Asia Pacific Masters Games and previously conducted biannually on the Gold Coast) will now be held every year alternating between the cities of Sacramento in California and the Gold Coast in Queensland.
