In most sport and recreation organisations, it is likely that fundraising plays a pretty major role. Whether your aim is to send athletes to a sporting competition, to build a new grandstand, to upgrade the clubhouse or simply to buy new uniforms, fundraising is important.

An organisation may not know how to effectively fundraise or may give up because of poor past results. However, successful fundraising must form part of a marketing strategy and should be planned, with set objectives. Brainstorming sessions could be run to identify creative ways to conduct and evaluate fundraising efforts.
