Department of Local Government
The Department of Local Government has published a suite of resources for people interested in becoming local government councillors. So you want to be a councillor provides information on the process of standing for election (including eligibility criteria), the role of local governments in Queensland, the roles and responsibilities of councillors, corporate and financial management of local governments and community planning.
