Youth engagement and participation
The following are examples of our initiatives and services aimed at providing young people with an opportunity to participate in their communities and in making decisions that impact their lives.
Queensland Youth Council
Provides advice to the Minister on issues that relate to the development of policies, programs and services.
YMCA Queensland Youth Parliament
A program that involves young people aged between 15 and 25 from the 89 electorates in Queensland who are keen to make a difference in their communities.
Youth Engagement Grants and youth forums
Funding that provides opportunities for young people to raise issues important to them in their region through participating in youth forums and to be a part of developing and implementing solutions to address those issues.
Queensland Youth Charter
Developed to promote involvement of young people in policy, program and service development.
Get On Board
Outlines how young people and other community members can become involved on a Government boards and/or committees.
Young people and local government
Giving young people the opportunity to provide input and advice in their local government.
Get Involved
The Queensland Government’s website that outlines how to have a say about the key issues being considered by government and how to participate in your community.
