Funding and support
The Department of Communities provides funding and on-the-ground support for organisations coordinating regional safety responses during Schoolies. Funding is available to enhance the quality of safety and security for Year 12 school leavers and the host communities.
Communities hosting Schoolies may face issues specific to their area. The funding contributes towards the development of innovative, targeted responses to local risks, issues and problems. Projects should have a proactive, preventative approach and respond to issues and challenges that have been identified through past experience in the local community. Projects should be implemented during Schoolies in each region.
Funding for Schoolies will be available in nominated locations and targeted to appropriate organisations. Check the Department of Communities’ Funding Calendar for information about the availability of funding for Schoolies community safety responses.
