Project Phoenix

Posted: Friday 26 May 2017

The Brisbane Domestic Violence Service (BDVS) are working in partnership with the North Brisbane District Police, trialling a new co-responder initiative called Project Phoenix. Through this initiative, BDVS can provide immediate support to those experiencing domestic and family violence.

North Brisbane District Police respond to twenty domestic violence calls each week. Project Phoenix, based out of Sandgate Police Station, aims to break the cycle of domestic violence by having the police be the first response dealing with the incident and then have a trained specialist follow up with support for the family.
