2016 NDIS Business Breakfast, Cairns

Hosted by The Honourable Coralee O’Rourke MP, Minister for Disability Services, Minister for Seniors and Minister Assisting the Premier on North Queensland, and proudly supported by Hesta, the event featured key note speakers:

Anne Skordis, General Manager, Scheme Transition of the National Disability Insurance Agency who provided insights into market opportunities under the NDIS, and

Belinda Drew, CEO of Community Service Industry Alliance who discussed the NDIS jobs growth projection in Queensland, the types of services that will be in demand and the key areas for workforce development.

Master of Ceremonies Karni Liddell, Paralympian and Queensland NDIS Ambassador, led a panel of experts to explore a vision of the future, highlighting some of the key changes that may lead to exciting new possibilities for a range of businesses and industry groups.

The discussion panel included both keynote speakers as well as:

Anita Veivers, Executive Director of Centrecare Cairns, former Deputy Chair Queensland Disability Advisory Council, former Chair Far North Queensland Regional Disability Advisory Council, Member Cairns Regional Council Access and Equity Committee, Deputy Chair Cairns Alliance of Social Services, and

Deb Hancock, CEO Cairns Chamber of Commerce, board member of Health Reimagined, Cairns Innovation Hub, the Defence Reserves Support Council, the International Association of Infant Massage Australia and Committee member for the Cairns Corporate Challenge.
