Local projects to tackle cyberbullying

Six young people and 39 community organisations will receive up to $5,000 each to deliver anti-cyberbullying projects across the state over the coming months.

The Queensland Government has committed $500,000 over 2 years to support the Tackle Cyberbullying Grants Program as part of a community-wide approach to stop cyberbullying.

The grants program provides an opportunity for community organisations and young people to develop and deliver local initiatives and projects to address cyberbullying among young people in their community.

Grant recipients will undertake projects that will:

  • empower young people to become positive role models
  • help young people develop respectful and positive relationships and interpersonal skills
  • create supportive and healthy environments for young people, encouraging them to think about how cyberbullying makes people feel and how we can stop it
  • encourage young people who see cyberbullying to speak up and support their friends.
