Interdepartmental Committee

Purpose

The Interdepartmental Committee (IDC) strategically leads the government policy direction on the child protection, youth justice and domestic and family violence (DFV) reforms.

IDC members are responsible for:

The IDC considers matters relating to the Royal Commission into Institutional Child Sexual Abuse when there is a significant crossover with Supporting Families Changing Futures, Our Way, youth justice and DFV reforms. In addition, the IDC's focus on youth justice will apply to those policy and strategy matters that cross over with child protection and DFV reform.

The IDC will take into account any priorities agreed at the Council of Australian Governmentes (COAG), particularly around child protection, youth justice and DFV.
