The Queensland Government is committed to increasing the number of women on boards in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors.

Our research has shown that diversity of gender on boards provides financial, performance and social benefits.

A range of resources are available to assist in making a positive difference for gender parity in Queensland.

Women in Technology 2020 Board Readiness Program

The WiT Board Readiness Program is offered in a small group format capped at 20 participants and is designed for women who have the desire to apply their personal and professional skills to becoming a successful Board Director. Applications close 14 February 2020.

Become a member of the Board of Examiners

You are invited to express your interest in becoming a member of the Board of Examiners. The Board contributes to securing the health and safety of workers in mines by ensuring only qualified and competent people are entrusted with key mining roles.

Gender parity achieved on Queensland Boards

We have delivered on our target of 51 percent representation of women on our government bodies by 2020. We have also developed resources to support businesses and community organisations to achieve or sustain gender parity for their boards.
