Foster and Kinship Carer Week - Child Safety Services, Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services (Queensland Government)

Foster and Kinship Carer Week

Foster and Kinship Carer Week is held in the last week of April each year. It is a celebration of the dedication and commitment of Queensland's foster and kinship carers who provide children and young people with a safe, loving and stable home.

There are currently more than 5300 carer families in Queensland who find room in their hearts and homes for more than 8800 children and young people in care.

The week offers an opportunity to highlight the selfless work by foster and kinship carers, thank them for their efforts and raise the profile of foster and kinship caring in the community.

Foster and Kinship carers can also use their Carer Business Discount Card to access discounts on a range of goods and services at participating businesses throughout Queensland. Carers can apply for a Carer Business Discount Card if they do not already have one.

Visit the website for more information on becoming a foster or kinship carer.

More information and resources will be available here leading up to Foster and Kinship Carer Week for 2018.
