It’s a wrap! Inspiring take-aways from the 2018 Community Recovery Forum.
The Department of Communities, Disability Services and Seniors hosted the third annual Community Recovery (Human and Social Recovery) Forum on 25 October 2018 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The theme for 2018 was Communities thriving, not just surviving. A number of Queensland communities had been significantly impacted by disaster events in recent years and the forum showcased innovative strategies some of these communities implemented to survive and recover.
The forum featured 22 speakers who presented on a range of topics, from volunteering and business, through to climate change and community-led recovery. Prior to the forum commencing, a breakfast was hosted for the presenters.
