Queensland Carers Advisory Council

The Queensland Carers Advisory Council provides advice to the Minister for Disability Services, Minister for Seniors and Minister Assisting the Premier on North Queensland on strategies that are aimed at increasing recognition of carers by public authorities and advancing the interests of carers.

Council members

The Queensland Carers Advisory Council members for the 2015 to 2017 term are:

  • Sue Campbell, Kawungan (carer representative)
  • Teresa Pilbeam, Maudsland (carer representative)
  • Alice Corcoran, Cleveland (carer representative)
  • Leigh-ann Elliot, Anstead (grandparent carer representative)
  • Debra Cottrell, Carers Queensland (carer organisation representative)
  • Alison Zappala, Anglicare Southern Queensland (carer organisation representative)
  • Marj Bloor, Arafmi Queensland (carer organisation representative)
  • Maree Lubach, Queensland Council of Grandparents (grandparent carer representative).

Four additional council members represent the Departments of Health; Justice and Attorney-General; Education and Training and Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services.
