Queensland LGBTI Roundtable

About the Roundtable

The LGBTI Roundtable will include:

  • 10 community members who represent the diversity of LGBTI Queenslanders
  • a senior executive officer of the Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services as the Chairperson
  • representatives from key Queensland government agencies.

The role of members will include:

  • working to advance the interests of LGBTI Queenslanders
  • informing the Minister and other government agencies on how government can consider the needs of LGBTI Queenslanders in the development of services, policies and strategies
  • attendance at Roundtable meetings for a 2 year term
  • preparedness to participate in a working group(s) with departmental officers to progress the work program of the Roundtable.

The LGBTI Roundtable will meet 3 times per year in Brisbane. The first Roundtable meeting will be held in the last quarter of 2017. In between official meetings, representatives may participate in working groups to consider specific topics when required. The working groups may meet face-to-face or via teleconference between each Roundtable to progress feedback on specific topics or action items endorsed by the LGBTI Roundtable, and will report on progress to the Roundtable.

Members will not be remunerated for attendance at official Roundtable meetings, however members residing outside South East Queensland will be reimbursed for reasonable out of pocket travel and accommodation expenses to enable members to attend meetings.
