Research - Making Life Better

Staff at the Centre of Excellence for Behaviour Support conduct research that provides the evidence for effectively supporting people with intellectual disability and challenging behaviour.

Evidence from research is used to inform government, institutional and organisational policies, as well as best practice. It provides direction across the disability services sector and other sectors as needed. Our researchers work to ensure that research findings are easily understood and translated into improved policy and practice.

Our website, publications and courses also provide straightforward ways to put research evidence and policies into practical and life-transforming actions.

Our current areas of research are:

  • Practice guides

Read practice guides developed to provide information and advice on significant issues in positive practice.
