2017/18 Advancing Queensland: an age-friendly community grants program

The Advancing Queensland: an age-friendly community grants program provides funding for local projects and initiatives to enhance the age-friendliness of communities across Queensland.

Over three years from 2017–18, $1 million per annum will be made available through open funding rounds to seed fund community projects involving partnerships between local government, community and other organisations to co-develop, implement and promote innovative age-friendly projects.

Applications are invited for non-recurrent seed funding of up to $100,000 (GST exclusive) per annum to deliver age-friendly projects from 21 April 2017.

Each year the age-friendly community grants program will focus on two to three age-friendly domains. The 2017-18 round will focus on:

  • Outdoor spaces and buildings: seniors live in an environment that includes open spaces, buildings, shaded areas and walkways that are safe and easy to navigate
  • Transport: seniors can get out and about, using a range of affordable, user-friendly transport services
  • Housing: Seniors’ housing options are affordable, accessible and close to transport and community services.

Applications close 5pm Friday 16 June 2017.

If you do not have an internet connection or are unable to access the online application form, please email Office for Seniors to request a hard copy of the application form.

For all queries about the grants program, please email Office for Seniors.
