2016/17 Celebrating Multicultural Queensland grants program - multicultural projects

Applications are invited for one-off funding of up to $25,000 (GST exclusive) per annum to deliver multicultural projects from 1 July 2017.

Multicultural projects, in alignment with the principles of the Multicultural Queensland Charter, will build community relationships to foster welcome, inclusion and participation of migrants and refugees in a range of activities across Queensland.

Applications are invited from community groups, including diverse cultural groups, community-based organisations, local councils and non-government incorporated not-for-profit organisations to develop practical strategies to:

  • promote community participation and intercultural connections among diverse cultural groups, and between diverse cultural groups and the wider community
  • engage general community groups (such as sporting groups, local clubs, school communities) in connecting and welcoming migrants and refugees into a wide range of community activities.

Specialist Disability Accommodation grant - Brisbane North

Applications are invited for one-off funding of up to $800,000 (GST exclusive) for the Provision of a Fully Accessible Specialist Disability Accommodation Property for people with a disability in the Brisbane North area of the Brisbane Region.

Capital grant funding of $800,000 is available to either construct a property, or purchase and modify an existing property in the Brisbane Region. The preferred solution will provide accommodation for three people with disabilities with high physical support needs.
