2017-18 Celebrating Multicultural Queensland grants program – multicultural events

Funding is now available for multicultural events that celebrate and promote intercultural connections, build community relationships to foster welcome, inclusion and participation of migrants and refugees, and increase appreciation and understanding of Queensland’s multicultural identity.

The objectives for multicultural events are:

  • enhance appreciation and recognition of diverse cultures in Queensland
  • promote community awareness about the benefits of multiculturalism
  • foster positive interaction and cohesion across diverse cultural groups and the wider community
  • facilitate increased understanding and intercultural connections between diverse cultural groups.

Applications are invited under two categories for multicultural events to be delivered in 2018:

  • Signature Events with one-off funding of up to $20,000 (GST exclusive)
  • Cultural Events with one-off funding of up to $10,000 (GST exclusive)

Community groups, non-government organisations, and local government councils that involve or support migrants and refugees from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, can apply for funding.

Applications close Tuesday 29 August 2017
