Queensland Gives Appeal

Queenslanders give. We give our energy to rebuild communities after a natural disaster, we volunteer our time for good causes, and we dig deep to support those in need.

Last year we showed our generous Christmas spirit by donating more than 17,000 gifts to support survivors of domestic and family violence throughout the state.

This year, the Queensland Gives Appeal lets you again show your generosity by giving a welcome gift to refugees — new Queenslanders — as they make a new beginning for themselves and their children.

It’s not easy to start over in a new country. Your gift is a symbol of welcome and peace for new arrivals as they leave behind violence and oppression to create a safe life in Queensland.

Five organisations that provide the Australian Government's humanitarian settlement services across Queensland will pass your gifts directly to recipients — Access Community Services Limited; Townsville Multicultural Support Group; Centacare Cairns, MDA Ltd and Multicultural Families Organisation.

By contributing to our target of 10,000 welcome gifts, you will make a positive impact on thousands of lives over the festive season and throughout 2017.

The Queensland Gives Appeal is a partnership between the Queensland Government,  612 ABC Brisbane, Queensland Rail, Access Community Services and BEMAC.
