Queensland Multicultural Month, the state’s largest multicultural celebration, was held during August 2017.

Queensland is a multicultural success story and the month presented an opportunity to showcase and celebrate our unique diversity and its benefits. People from across the state joined together to perform, share, taste, listen, learn and acknowledge that, while we may come from different cultures, we all love living in Queensland.

This year we acknowledged the enormous benefits multiculturalism offers Queensland’s culture and prosperity. This was represented through our weekly themes:

If you would like to keep up-to-date with multicultural initiatives in Queensland all year round, like our Facebook page, follow us on Twitter or join our mailing list.

Multicultural Queensland Charter

The Queensland Government has a vision of a unified, harmonious and inclusive community. The way we will achieve this is through the adoption of the Multicultural Queensland Charter principles.

This vision is shared by Queensland Multicultural Month and the month’s events provide a perfect opportunity to celebrate cultural harmony in communities statewide. The charter’s principles underpin our weekly themes, events and activities.
