NDIS set to roll out across Queensland

The full rollout of the NDIS across Queensland will occur between 1 July 2016 and 30 June 2019.

The NDIS has arrived in NQ

In 2015, the Queensland and Commonwealth Governments agreed to an early launch of the NDIS in North Queensland. The launch began in early 2016 in Townsville, Charters Towers and Palm Island.

Queensland's NDIS events calendar

The calendar connects Queenslanders with disability, their families and carers, businesses and service providers with NDIS-related events across the state.

A number of initiatives are supporting people with disability, their families and carers, service providers, businesses, and prospective workers to be ready for the NDIS.

  • Our role

    The Queensland Government is working closely with the Commonwealth Government, local communities and the disability sector to ensure a smooth and carefully managed transition to the NDIS.

  • Queensland’s early launch site

    The first Queenslanders to access the NDIS were children and young people aged under 18 years in the Townsville and Charters Towers local government areas, and all eligible people with disability aged under 65 years on Palm Island, as part of the Queensland Government's Early Launch in 2016.
