AS&RS as a service provider with the NDIS

The NDIS is a new way of supporting people with a permanent and significant disability that affects their ability to take part in everyday activities.

In line with the election commitments of the Palaszczuk Government, the Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services will register as an NDIS service provider with the NDIA, and AS&RS will continue to deliver services.

People receiving services from AS&RS who have Australian residency and who are under the age of 65yrs can transition to NDIS.  People over the age of 65yrs and non-residents will be provided with continuity of support.

Continuity of support means people who do not meet the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) eligibility requirements but who were accessing a disability service prior to being assessed by the NDIA will continue to receive support consistent with their current arrangements.

People receiving support from AS&RS will continue to receive services from the department until the NDIS is introduced in their location. After this time, eligible participants can either choose to stay with AS&RS services delivered by the department, or choose another provider as part of their NDIS plan.
