Provider obligations

Providers are required to:

  1. Identify which roles and jobs need screening
  2. Submit an application for criminal history screening before a person starts work (Providers must not engage a paid employee unless an application for criminal history screening check has been submitted, and must not engage a volunteer or a student until they have been issued with their Yellow Card)
  3. Sight 2 original pieces of the person’s identification and sign the application form attesting to have completed this step.

An application for criminal history screening can only be submitted for a person if there is consent, and agreement in place for them to start work with a provider.
