Place-based approaches provide community members and stakeholders with a framework for identifying and responding to local needs and improving social and economic wellbeing in a particular location.
Services, programs and initiatives designed and implemented using a place-based approach will be unique to each community’s identified needs. While these are likely to be different in each community, the learnings and lessons from one community can help form, inform and shape initiatives in other communities.
Under the Australian Government’s Stronger Places Stronger People initiative, the Queensland and Australian Governments are partners in delivering this long-term collective impact movement in three locations across Queensland. These locations include Logan, Rockhampton and Gladstone.
