About the competition

The B.OLD short film competition was designed to support the production of a series of short films that challenge traditional views on ageing.

Talented filmmakers were invited to submit scripts for 3-5 minute short films to go in the running to win $10,000 to produce the film.

We were looking for stories that:

  • celebrate older people, their achievements and contributions
  • make audiences think twice about what it means to get older
  • inspire people to pursue their dreams and desires no matter what their age
  • show how society could change to become more age-friendly.

The films produced from B.OLD short film competition winning scripts will be screened at film festivals around the state.
